摘要
The 1D and 2D algorithms based on the CVM described here make it possible to solve a wide range of practical problems related to hydraulics of open flows. They are used at the B. E. Vedeneev Institute of Hydraulic Engineering for modeling consequences of hydrodynamic breakdowns and identifying the possible flooding zones, for numerical modeling of tidal phenomena etc. The test calculations (altogether over 20) and their correlation with the experimental data confirm the high accuracy of these methods; in some cases the propagation of a break wave even in nonprismatic channels is satisfactorily described by the simplest 1D calculation schemes. With more complex channel configurations, the 1D approach becomes unacceptable, whereas the 2D scheme of the second order of accuracy better represents the results of experiments compared to the first-order schemes. The explicit Hancock/MUSCL algorithm described in the present study combines simplicity of implementation, high accuracy, and computational efficiency. One may hope that projects similar to CADAM projects intended for the development of international database of experimental data and test examples for the verification of numerical models of breakdowns at hydraulic structures will continue and that Russia will be able to participate in such projects.
