摘要
The value of the clinical computed tomography (CT) and post-mortem CT (PMCT) in polytrauma is well accepted, although some issues, e.g. after organ or vessel injuries, cannot be completely satisfactorily answered. It remains to be analyzed to what extent post-mortem CT angiography (PMCTA) enhances the CT diagnostics in this respect. The benchmark for the evaluation is the forensic autopsy. Three exemplary cases from a series of studies on victims of polytrauma are presented here. In addition to PMCT, multiphase post-mortem angiography (MPMCTA) was performed in a 3-phase technique. The cases were subject to autopsy. It was found that vessel injuries and organ lacerations can be reliably detected by MPMCTA when the artefacts are correctly classified.
