Reverse anisotropy of the mechanical properties of aluminum alloys containing scandium that causes formation of shear bands during cold rolling is studied. Bands reduce longitudinal properties but have no effect on transverse properties. The possibility of obtaining isotropic sheets without shear bands is discussed.
