Sorption Interactions in the Hydroxyapatite–CuSO4 Aqueous Solution System

Abstract: The adsorption of copper(II) ions by synthetic hydroxyapatite is considered. We show that the sorption of metal ions proceeds predominantly in the mixed-diffusion region, while the chemical interaction described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation has a significant influence on the rate of the process. The adsorption isotherm is described in the best way by the Langmuir monomolecular adsorption equation. The interaction between hydroxyapatite and water is studied with NMR relaxation spectroscopy. © 2022, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
