摘要：
Die WHO schätzt, dass sich weltweit jährlich bis zu 357 Millionen Menschen mit einer bakteriellen STD neu infizieren. Auch in Deutschland werden steigende Infektionszahlen der Syphilis, der einzigen meldepflichtigen bakteriellen STD, verzeichnet. Während der zielgerichteten Diagnostik und leitliniengerechten Therapie bei symptomatischen Patienten eine wichtige Rolle zukommt, ist das Screening asymptomatischer Patienten aktuell noch in der Diskussion.
