摘要
A new species of the genus Morellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830, Morellia (Morellia) trifurcata sp. n., collected from Yunnan, China is described. Four DNA sequences of the partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) gene of this new species are provided. In order to evaluate the availability of DNA barcoding for identifying Morellia species, 38 currently available, non-identical COI sequences of 16 Morellia species are involved in a molecular analysis using the neighbor-joining (NJ) method. The intra- and interspecific p-distances are summarized.
