Mn 2 - xZn xSb (0.6 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) solid solutions are shown to undergo magnetic phase separation (coex- istence of two magnetic phases in a structurally homogeneous material) using a combination of characteriza- tion techniques (magnetometry, X-ray diffraction, neutron diffraction, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and resistiv- ity measurements). A model is presented for the coexistence of two magnetic phases in the two-sublattice fer- rimagnet Mn 2Sb diamagnetically diluted with zinc. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2010.
