Reduction mammaplasty with the inferior pedicle technique using the Strömbeck pattern incurs some risk of undercutting the pedicle, thus endangering the viability of the nipple-areola complex. The authors present a technique of holding the breast similar to the grip of a fast bowler. This stabilizes the tissues and allows for more accurate dissection, thus minimizing damage to the pedicle.
