Substantiation of Main Wastewater-Treatment Directions in the Production of Adhesive Compounds and Polymer-Containing Composites

Abstract: The production of adhesive compositions being a part of the technological complex that provides the manufacture of soundproof screens and other products with acoustic or vibration-resistant properties, consists of a number of experimental units and pilot plants. The organization of the technological process is determined by the range of manufactured products, as well as by the characteristics of the raw materials and other materials under use, which determines, to a considerable extent, the character and composition of the resulting industrial wastes. This experimental study is devoted to searching for reliable methods for water purification from the technological impurities of sulfur-containing compounds. According to the results of the experiments, based on data obtained in the course of the operation of laboratory-scale technological and industrial facilities, it has been shown that an efficient solution to the problem of water purification consists in a method of stepwise impurity removal, initially by means of an adsorption purification technique and, then, as affected by a catalytic complex based on calcium and molybdenum oxides. The production drains processed based on this method can be further disposed of with the use of standard biological wastewater treatment plants. © 2023, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
