摘要
This study was conducted to understand the adoption of improved technologies and cultivation practices in rice production in Bihar. The study is based on the high-frequency field-level data being collected under ICAR-ICRISAT project on village dynamics studies in South Asia. The findings of the study show that the adoption of modern technology is directly related to the size of holding. The inverse relationship between productivity and farm size has ceased to operate in recent years. This study reaffirms this trend. The study suggests for designing appropriate and implementable agrarian policies with strong monitoring and evaluation framework to accelerate the speed of adoption of modern technologies to enhance rice productivity in eastern India in general and Bihar in particular. © 2016, NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences).
