摘要
Background: Acute subdural hematoma associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage of the posterior fossa following closed head trauma is a relatively rare entity with a high mortality rate. Most authors recommend immediate surgical intervention for acute subdural hematoma. To the best of our knowledge, concurrent acute subdural hematoma and subarachnoid hemorrhage with an arachnoid cyst at the infratentorial compartment have not been reported before in the medical literature. Case Study: A 9-year-old male patient presented with an acute posttraumatic subdural hematoma and subarachnoid hemorrhage of the posterior fossa that were associated with an arachnoid cyst. He was managed successfully with conservative treatment. Conclusion: Conservative treatment should be considered in select cases of subdural hematoma.
