摘要
Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulation describes a class of spread spectrum modulations recently introduced for the next generation of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). The purpose of this paper is to revisit the BOC modulations and propose a new particularly attractive modulation scheme called the Faded Harmonics Binary Offset Carrier (FHBOC) modulation. This new modulation family allows us to construct a new navigation signal by using a special pulse waveform with optional modulation parameters. The application of FHBOC modulation in GNSS signal design is also investigated. Simulation studies and comparisons with existing modulations demonstrate the spectral separation, faded harmonics and signal performance of the proposed FHBOC modulation. The proposed modulation family can provide potential opportunities for future GNSS signal design.
