摘要
Pyricularia grisea, the fungus that causes blast disease in finger millet [Eleusine coracana (L) Gaertn] produced maximum quantity of crude toxins. Crude toxins were partially purified and characterized by UV and mass spectra. Pyrichalasin H, a phytotoxic metabolite, has been identified and found to be toxic when tested for inhibition of seed germination and seedling growth of blast resistant and susceptible finger millet varieties.
