Summary: The description and illustration of a new species of Eremanthus (Asteraceae: Vernonieae), E. brevifolius, endemic to Minas Gerais State, is presented and its affinities assessed. E. graciellae and E. pohlii are newly synonymised under E. capitatus, and E. seidelii under E. elaeagnus. © 2012 The Board of Trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
