Methods for the preparation of various fused heterocyclic systems having thiazolothiadiazole, furothiazole, pyrazolothiazole, thiazolopyridine, pyranothiazole, and chromenopyranothiazole skeletons were developed using 2-thioxo-1,3-thiazolidin-4-ones as initial compounds.
