摘要
About 80% of pancreatic cancer patients have glucose intolerance or frank diabetes. This observation has led to the following two hypotheses: i. pancreatic cancer causes the associated diabetes and ii. the conditions associated with diabetes promote the development of pancreatic cancer. Evidence supporting both hypotheses has been accumulated in previous studies. This article reviews these studies, especially those that have been conducted recently. -cr 2003 Wang et al; licensee BioMed Central Ltd.
