摘要
Microgrids are supposed to be part of the next evolution of the electrical power industry, not only in the island and rural areas but also in urban areas. A hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) is supposed to be synchronized with the traditional power utility; therefore, their optimal planning needs to be identified. Techno-economic analysis of HRES helps to identify the feasibility of a renewable-based system. The economic viability aspects of HRES may also identify using techno-economic analysis. Microgrid preparation is a dynamic process due to current options, priorities, limitations, and uncertainties. This research paper aims to present a recent review on different design parameters, data categorization and different tools used for HRES design. In addition to this, a comprehensive review on different sizing methodologies of HRES, i.e., Graphical Construction, Probabilistic, Iterative, Artificial Intelligence, and Hybrid Methods are addressed in this article. © 2022, The Institution of Engineers (India).
