Abstract: Data on the use in the continuous casting machines at PAO MMK of slag-forming mixtures (SFMs) manufactured by OOO Shlakservits to replace SFMs brought from afar including those imported from abroad are presented. In 2018–2019, SFMS of eight types intended for slab and billet continuous castings machines were tested. All SFMs tested ensure the stable and failure-free continuous casting of steel producing high-quality cast billets and finished rolled products. The mixtures tested have been favorably appraised by the research-engineering center of PAO MMK. The manufacturing of slag-forming mixtures on the territory of Russia, in particular at PAO MMK, ensures the formation of prices competitive with those of all domestic and foreign suppliers. The modern production development of slag-forming mixtures for steelmaking plants of PAO MMK based on OOO Shlakservis, a subsidiary of the former, is considered. © 2021, Allerton Press, Inc.
