Phase Equilibria in the Tl2S-Tl2Te-Tl9BiTe6-TlBiS2 system

The phase equilibria in the Tl2S-Tl2Te-Tl9BiTe6-TlBiS2 system have been studied by differential thermal analysis and x-ray diffraction. The results have been used to construct the T-x phase diagram along the Tl2S-Tl9BiTe6 ([TlBi0.333S0.5Te0.5]) and TlBiS2-Tl2Te(Tl9BiTe6) joins, the 500-K section of the phase diagram of the Tl2S-Tl2Te-Tl9BiTe6-TlBiS2 system, and its liquidus diagram. The invariant and univariant phase equilibria involved have been identified. The system has been shown to contain wide regions of Tl2Te-and Tl9BiTe6-based quaternary solid solutions.
