摘要
Lens is important component of any imaging or visual system; when light falls on any object partly it is reflected and partly transmitted (through the object). The imaging system is based on the light refracted through the optical components like lens. In this paper we are discussing refraction for the real time imaging, so as to adjust the focus for the various rays received after the refraction from the live scene through the modeled lens. The purpose of this paper is to model a lens in 3-D without distortion, by adjusting the rotational angles and linear distance by translational motion that the object makes with coordinate axes. In the Part-I the linear distance is modeled mathematically, to understand how the distance affects the focusing. The results from Part-I are used in part-II for 3D progressive focusing. The radial distortion is taken into account as the constant term. The results for the standard deviation, mean and mean squared error for the given set of inputs are tabulated for camera focusing. © 2009 Optical Society of India.
