A model is proposed for predicting the deformation of two-component compacts under diffusion accompanied by phase transformations. The model is based on the movable cellular automata method. Dilatancy effects of a Cu-Al powder mixture under liquid phase sintering are described by means of computer simulations. ©1999 Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers.
