Trends in the regional pattern of investment in the Russian economy and its efficiency are analyzed. Various approaches to forecasting the regional pattern of investment are considered. An optimization model is proposed for dealing with this task. On the basis of this model, a forecast of the regional structure of the GRP and investment for the period up to 2010 is made. © 2006 Nauka/Interperiodica.
