摘要：
The publication in 1995 of an Australian—New Zealand Standard on Risk Management provided a logical and systematic process for examining risk and determining treatment options. After national consultation, the approach taken by the standard has been adapted to make it appropriate to the needs of the Australian emergency management community. The resultant policy of emergency risk management is now underpinning management-level emergency management training and is to be applied at a practical level in community settings.
