Diffusion, diffusion creep and grain growth characteristics of nanocrystalline and fine-grained monoclinic, tetragonal and cubic zirconia

摘要
The experimentally measured grain size compensated diffusion creep rates are essentially identical in cubic, tetragonal and monoclinic zirconia, suggesting a similarity in the absolute magnitudes of their grain boundary diffusion coefficients. However, grain growth is substantially slower in tetragonal zirconia due to significant grain boundary segregation. (C) 2002 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
