摘要
The method of upgrading of existing foundations by piles is widely used when an extra load is required to be applied. Two series of controlled model upgrading tests have been carried out in a normally consolidated clay with two different loading levels and different pile lengths. In this paper, the test procedure for the model upgrading tests, and the results of different test series, are presented. Some comparisons are also made between the experimental results and numerical finite element analysis.
