摘要
Superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) take up water and release the water during hydration of the cement. This behavior can support internal curing as well as activation of non-hydrated cement in microcracks (self-healing). The second effect forms the basis of investigations since creep is caused by viscous deformations and microcracks. A series of tests has been performed on five concrete mixtures subjected to compressive stress and the resulting deformations were measured. It was found that small amounts of SAP significantly reduce creep.
