Early Results of Carotid Endarterectomy and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting as a Simultaneous Surgery for Patients with Combined Hemodynamic Significant Stenoses of the Coronary and Carotid Arteries

Cardiovascular diseases continue to occupy a leading position in the global structure of mortality and disability and cause significant damage to the economies of developed countries. The main cause of the pathology of this system is atherosclerosis, i.e. a chronic disease of inflammatory etiology, characterized by damage to the arterial vessel endothelium and progressive stenosis of the lumen. Multifocal atherosclerosis has adverse perspective. According to foreign and domestic studies, it is very common in the Russian population. The main complications of atherosclerosis, which are part of the life-threatening group, are myocardial infarction (MI) and acute cerebrovascular accident (ACVA). In this paper, the results of synchronous carotid endarterectomy (CE) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for patients with concomitant hemodynamic severe coronary and carotid artery stenosis are evaluated. A cohort continuous prospective nonrandomized study of 74 patients operated from 2014 to 2019 was conducted.
