A model of product platform management based on ontology

摘要
A model of product platform management and its architecture are built, which describe the management of product platform in three views, i.e., functional, technical and organizational views. In the functional view, the functions can be divided into three kinds, i.e., basic, additional and potential functions. In technical view, the technical management processes of mass customizing products are illustrated. In organizational view, the human resources of implementing the functions and techniques are described. After this, the ontology of product platform is built. Concepts and relationships of conceptual classes of product platform are described. Finally, a personal computer product platform exemplifies the model and the ontology of product platform.
