摘要：
Brittle fracture of components containing a crack of arbitrary orientation and subjected to biaxial loading is analysed based on the Mode I and Mode II stress intensity factors and fracture toughness relation. The critical orientation of the crack and the determination of the applied stress intensity factors in principal directions are discussed.
