An effective strategy has been developed for rapid and efficient one pot synthesis of 2-arylbenzothiazoles from readily available 2-aminothiophenol and aromatic aldehydes catalyzed by TTBO in high yields and short reaction times. This strategy allows access to a structurally diverse array of products for further manipulation. The reactions were preceded under mild conditions to afford 2-arylbenzothiazole derivatives. The pure products were identified and characterized by physical and spectroscopic data such as; IR, H-1 NMR and C-13 NMR.
