Synthesis and properties of novel acid-sensitive conjugated allene polymers

摘要
Stable tetraarylallene monomers were dehalogenatively polymerized with Ni(cod)(2), affording poly(biphenylylenediaryl-propadienylene)s. The polymers soluble in THF and CHCl3 had a good processability for thin films. The polymers in solution showed a strong blue fluorescence on irradiation by a UV lamp. For remarkable acid-sensitivity, the polymers became blue-violet color immediately on exposure to some acids. By doping with trifluoroacetic acid, the electrical conductivity of polymer increased from 10(-7) to 10(-2) S/cm.
