摘要
Dimethylamino-terminated self-assembled monolayers (SAM) were used to perform photoinduced polymerization on gold. The photochemical initiation was more rapid than thermal and allowed the lithographic patterning of planar substrates. It was found that dialkylamino SAMs proved beneficial to initiate systems for the synthesis of grafted polymers. The number-average molecular weight of the polymers were examined and it was suggested that molecular weight for grafted polymers was similar to that in bulk solutions for free radical polymerizations.
