摘要
Stripping is one of the major distresses of pavement. It considers a significant problem facing highway administrations. Great efforts were made, and hundreds of research studies were carried out to determine the nature, mechanism, testing methods, and measurement of stripping. It recognized since 1932, and many anti-stripping additives identified and used since 1947. A comprehensive survey of researches over the past 60 years has been summarized for the asphalt mixtures stripping in this paper. The paper addresses the major subjects related to the stripping of asphalt pavements and correlated titles. Paper contents include definitions, mechanisms of stripping, field tests, anti-stripping additives. It still a challenge for pavement scientists and engineers to control and minimize the moisture susceptibility that leads to pavement distresses. Many references are provided at the end of the paper.
