摘要
War fascinates and appals. Despite its evident violence, it continues to be produced as good. This article reflects on the responses to my War and the Politics of Ethics in this special issue by thinking through the challenges of writing war/ethics. It sets out the implications of starting from where I did and then explores the directions suggested by the contributions to the volume as well as a wider body of work that has emerged in the area. The article reiterates the significance of closely engaging with the production of ethics in and through war and with the mutual implication of war and ethics in each other. How we think and write about war/ethics requires constant attention and reevaluation; it must not be left to those who think they know how to speak about it.
