摘要
Here, to understand the necessary seafloor processes at various spatial scales we have carried out characterization of the seafloor bathymetry across the carbonate platform from the western continental margin of India (WCMI). We apply multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis (MFDFA) to multibeam bathymetry data. The seafloor roughness was estimated using the second-order moment of the Hurst exponent. The shallower depth blocks show lower backscatter than the deeper one. Estimated multifractal parameters show comparatively higher multifractality for shallow water blocks than the deeper waters.
