In order to minimise the AC-losses of HTSC cable conductors for power transmission lines operating at 77K, three 1.0 m long BSCCO cable conductors using different designs have been constructed and tested. Besides presenting results from a cable conductor with transposed tapes, we discuss the experimental set-up for AC-loss measurements in general. By varying the losses both as function of applied current and frequency, we have been able to separate the individual loss components.
