摘要
In this paper, the characteristics of marine electric propulsion system are introduced, and power quality actuality of the system is also interpreted. Then, the significance of improving power quality of the system is discussed. Afterwards, the methods of improving power quality which are nowadays applied to marine electric propulsion systems are analyzed. Finally, a new approach-the Combination of Active Power Factor Compensator and Series Active Filter aided by parallel Passive Filter-is proposed for marine electric propulsion system. According to the working principles of the aforementioned new approach, it can be predicted that the combined system seems to be promising to compensate for harmonics and promote power factor in marine electric propulsion system.
