The use of capillary electrophoresis in vaccines

This review discusses the application of capillary electrophoresis (CE) to vaccine quantitation, purity, process monitoring, characterization, and nucleic acid analysis. There is dearth of publications on CE methods applied to vaccines. This is probably reflective of limited number of vaccine companies, nature of the vaccine analytical chemistry, and relative age of the technique rather than utility of CE for vaccine industry. CE has great deal of potential to supplant existing methodologies in vaccine industry and to expand the analytical control strategies of new vaccines. The applications covered in this review represent possibilities and potential for CE, as applied to vaccines.
