摘要：

The capital cost of a bauxite and alumina project is a key parameter in meeting corporate threshold economic criteria and in many cases may "make or break" a project. Although capital costs of projects tend to be quoted and compared, a consistent basis is often lacking and "apples" are compared with "pears". This paper addresses elements of capital cost estimates of bauxite and alumina projects.
