New acknowledgement mechanism for TCP/IP over ATM

摘要
This paper presents a new acknowledgement scheme for TCP/IP over ATM. In this paper, we modify the fast retransmit algorithm so as to improve its performance in the ATM networks and propose a new effective acknowledgement option format. We also evaluate the effectiveness of this proposal by simulation.
