Problems and Countermesures of Sustainable Development of the City Groups in West China

The western city groups of China have been faced many deep-rooted contradictions and problems that restrict the sustainable growth in the process of transforming from closed traditional agricultural districts to open tertiary industry cities and shifting from self-developing monomer cities to urban agglomerations with mutual support and communal development. In this context, this article will take the western city groups of China as the research object, sum up the problems in the process of sustainable development of the western city groups of China through literature research and survey research, and propose some appropriate countermeasures, such as the sustainable development of western city groups should be propelled under the guidance of uniform planning, focus on regional cooperation, rejuvenating traditional industrial bases, planning scientifically and properly, implementing the open urbanization strategy and accelerating the development of education in the western region, etc.
