The possibility is stated of predicting the type of hydrocarbon pool (oil or gas) by comparing AVO (amplitude versus offset) and non-density effects: both effects are caused by the presence of gas, and if AVO effect is absent, but nondensity effect is present, it could be used as a proof of oil or condensate pool.
