摘要
Novel conductive hybrids were prepared by compounding vapor grown carbon fibers (VGCF) with epoxy/clay nanocomposites. Volume resistivity as low as 10(4) Omega m or 10(5) Orn was achieved with the presence of exfoliated clay layers by small amount of VGCF, i.e. VGCF content of 2.5 wt% or 1 wt%, respectively. It has been found that an effective VGCF dispersion on electrical properties was achieved by excluded volume mechanism due to highly exfoliated clay layers.
