摘要
Visual summaries consist of schematic and innovative representations of geographic knowledge. In fact, they offer a synthetic vision of territories allowing, then, an easier explanation of the most important information. In this context, and as spatial tools of analysis, chorems may be considered as excellent candidates that provide geographers with a global view of interesting phenomena or an insight into a specific issue. Starting from this statement, the following research has been launched to serve the ideas previously stated and to generate chorematic maps automatically. The present paper describes the project rotating about automatic chorems generation starting from datasets of interest encoded with an XML-like multi-level language. We note that our implemented system ensures users interaction by allowing them a set of operations to adapt the maps obtained to their interests.
