摘要
Corticosteroids administered by the nasal route are indicated in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Their effects on the symptoms, such as nasal obstruction or rhinorrhea, are superior to those of oral antihistamines. Among local corticosteroids, fluticasone propionate is effective on the nasal symptomatology of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis. Fluticasone decreases the number of days with nasal obstruction, sneezing, nasal pruritus or rhinorrhea and improves the patients' qualify of life. Its action time is rapid and is maintained over the course of time. In addition, its local tolerance is good. (C) 2000 Editions scientifiques et medicales Elsevier SAS.
