Synthesis and spectroscopic investigation of some iron(III) complexes

摘要
The chelating behaviour of neutral and deprotonated (anionic) 2-acetylthiophene-2-furoylhydrazone (Hatfh), 2-acetylfuran-2-furoylhydrazone (Haffh), 2-acetylpyridine-2-furoylhydrazone (Hapfh) and Omega-hydroxyacetophenone-2-furoylhydrazone (H(2)hafh) has been investigated in the complexs of iron(III). The hydrazones react with ferric chloride to yield complexes of the types [Fe(HL)Cl-2(OH)] [HL = Hatfh, Hapfh], Fe(Hatfh)(2)Cl-2(OH) Fe(Hhafh)Cl-2(H2O), Fe-2(L-3)(OH)(3)(H2O) HL = Hatfh, Haffh, Hapfh] and Fe(Hhafh)(3). The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, electronic, infrared and Mossbauer spectral studies and their stereochemistries are discussed.
