Behavior of a Josephson-junction array with golden mean frustration

摘要
The Josephson-junction array at the golden mean frustration factor behaves as a supercooled liquid above T* similar or equal to 0.25 showing a time-temperature scaling in its relaxation. Below T* the relaxation becomes exceedingly slow and scaling is lost. We propose that at T* the system crosses over to a regime where it can sense the presence of the many local minima in the energy landscape. Furthermore, the system undergoes a first-order transition at 0.14 < T-1 < 0.16. The study of the equilibrium properties of the system below T-1 indicates anisotropy in the phase coherence; this is due to the unique structure of the vortex lattice.
