[GRAPHIC] A practical, one-pot, two-step catalytic method is described for the synthesis of 2,5-diformylfuran (DFF) from fructose via dehydration to 5-(hydroxymethyl)furfural (HMF), followed by in situ catalytic air-oxidation.
