摘要
The First World War gave birth in Asia to a new deal in terms of power and modified Japan's diplomatic relations in the alliance systems in which it had a part. The war, to all appearances a mere conflict with Germany, in reality constituted for Japan a number of different conflicts, both military and diplomatic. The new aspect of this war, as a total war, was to greatly influence Japan in its relationship to war and to its colonial empire.
