Literary voices of the spanish civil war (1936-1939): the republican narrative versus the rebel side

In this research we have tried to make a com-parison of two literary plays done during the Spanish Civil War composed by authors from different sides (republican and rebel side) which were written with the main objective of defending their particular ideology. We have compared the novel Retaguardia composed byConcha Espina (related to Francoism) and the republican novel Acero de Madrid writ-ten by Jose Herrera Petere. To achieve our purpose, we have made a brief approach to the characteristics of the literature written during the Civil War, alluding to a small part of its main authors. Later we have analyzed the two mentioned plays, confronting convergences and differences.
